In 1994, HWI was incorporated and, in 1997, Greg became a licensed general contractor. HWI has a built a strong reputation by providing superior commercial and residential remodeling under its general contracting license and produces fine cabinetry and casework for both residential and commercial projects. What sets HWI apart from any other showroom and cabinet supplying company is that they are proud to manufacture cabinets entirely in Hawaii at their location at 3219 Koapaka St., with local labor and, whenever possible, materials purchased from local suppliers. Greg and Renee strongly believe that it is important to support the local community’s economy and help meet the needs of the community. In the last 17 years, the business has grown from a small cabinet and solid-surface shop to its present 12,000-square-foot manufacturing cabinet shop. HWI moved into its current location to accommodate its growing business as well as new computerized, state-of-the art equipment, including the first-in-the-state membraneless press from Italapresse, which allows HWI to manufacture thermoform cabinet doors as well as CNC tooling. The 12,000-square-foot shop includes a mill-shop area and a custom stain/finish area.
The company supplies quality cabinetry to residential and commercial projects and offers complete contracting services for home remodels. HWI can also supply cabinetry to existing projects and will work closely with a customer’s general contractor and designer as needed. With nearly 30 full-time employees (including auto-cad operators, an estimator and project managers) to assist customers, HWI can offer either complete project renovation packages or any part thereof. The high-quality cabinetry manufactured by HWI uses only ¾-inch plywood construction and offers a wide variety of door styles and other options (dovetail drawers,Lazy Susans, pull-outs, etc.). There are 104 available custom stain options, and they will work with their customers to match the desirable stain color. Greg is the company’s designer and can assist customers in making their plans meet their dreams and desires. He listens to what the customer wants and helps to make that their reality. Initial design and estimating is at no charge to the customer. HWI is very competitive in pricing and emphasizes customer service and satisfaction. Greg and Renee are proud of their journey and the people who have supported them. All of HWI’s employees are professionals who take great pride in their work and strive to make the renovation a pleasant and satisfying experience for our customers. |
