If
you take inspiration from last month’s Green issue, here’s an easy way
to keep the momentum going: Check your home’s fixtures for water leaks.
In
2005, the Honolulu Board of Water Supply (BWS) found leaks in 10 homes
that, if left undetected, would’ve wasted more than 389,000 gallons.
That’s enough water to meet the needs of an average family of four for
2-1/2 years—and cost almost $700.
June
3-9 is Detect-a-Leak Week on Oahu. The BWS is offering free dye tablets
and will give away 50 leak detection services; see DALW flyers at City
Mill and Hardware Hawaii or visit www.boardofwatersupply.com.
Check
out our fourth annual Editor’s Choice Award from the Building Industry
Association of Hawaii’s annual Renaissance Building & Remodeling
Awards. The owners’ and architect’s philosophies are visible throughout
this distinctly Hawaiian home.
We also profile kitchen designers here.
We enjoyed learning what makes them tick, how they get inspiration for
a great kitchen, what’s cookin’ at home. If you’re looking for a great
kitchen designer, we offer you some of the best here in Hawaii. Read on!
