This month, we get down to the nuts and bolts of kitchen and bath remodeling. It’s no secret that revamping these spaces adds value to your home and quality to the time spent there. Have you always dreamt of preparing food in a gorgeous setting? If so, get inspired by the view of Diamond Head seen from the kitchen window atop Wilhelmina Rise in our New & Improved Home.

Or maybe you’re searching for the perfect natural stone or concrete surface for your new kitchen countertop. Look no further than Inside Out, where we outline the newest ways to use surface materials. Some of the latest earth- and wallet-friendly options are more attainable than you think. And as always, we’ve got two Great Kitchens—functional spaces for real cooks.

Looking for the right person for the job? In this issue, we also feature award-winning designs from some of the best local kitchen designers. It’s all in our annual National Kitchen and Bath Association Aloha Chapter Membership Guide. And finally, for a special treat, turn to this month’s Fresh Ideas page, which showcases some of our favorite local chefs’ most tried-and-true kitchen gadgets.

Whatever your kitchen and bath remodeling dreams, I hope this issue will help you accomplish them. Here’s to more time spent enjoying the comforts of your home.

Aloha,
Sabra

Last month, Hawaii Home + Remodeling, HONOLULU and Hawaii Business magazines joined forces to recognize 18 honorees at our second annual Who’s Keeping Hawaii Green celebration at Moanalua Gardens. At left is a photo of me with Jack Johnson, our celebrity honoree, who joked, “I’m taking green to a whole new level by conserving razor blades this month.” We’re proud of our honorees’ efforts this year and would like to thank all who contributed to this wonderful and worthwhile event.
