The Makai Range of windows, available exclusively on Oahu by Discount Windows & Doors, is made specifically for Hawaii’s unique climate—and they're self-cleaning, too!

The Discount Windows & Doors showroom in Kaneohe has been open for two years, but the company—and parent company Pacific Building Wholesale—has been providing quality windows and doors for Hawaii homeowners for more than six years.

"We have decades of combined experience," says company vice president Shawn Moseley, of the staff. “We've seen just about everything there is to see with windows.”

With that expertise, Discount Windows & Doors recently developed its own range of island-specific windows. “A lot of windows are made to handle Mainland climates, but they don't address things like the salt and humidity we get here," says Moseley.

The new Makai Range of vinyl windows, however, was designed expressly for Hawaii's unique climate. They are energy-efficient, corrosion-proof and tested to withstand hurricane-strength winds of more than 200 mph, or a Category 5 hurricane. The Ohana line, one of two, is even available with self-cleaning glass and paintable vinyl trim. Plus, a lifetime warranty and stainless-steel hardware ensure peace of mind for years to come.

But don't expect such high-quality products to come with a high-end price tag. “We’re the factory. We manufacture direct. There’s no middle man,” Moseley explains. “We have different products with different benefits for different budgets. We address your needs and tailor the right products to you.”
