Large tiles, such as large-format travertine, as well as neutral-hued natural stone and porcelain, continue to be popular options. “Glass tiles have always been popular in the bathroom,” says John Pasternak, of Daltile, “especially in mosaics, because they are used as accents and help to break up the look of large tiles.” At Naka's Marble, Tammy Nakamoto notes that cultured marble countertops are “still the most popular and inexpensive option we have for bathroom countertops.” The cultured marble countertops are manufactured in-house and can be made almost any size, and the basin can be offset to any position.
GOOD TO KNOW
When choosing bathroom finishes, “what's critical is using quality materials,” says Allen Giles, of Tile Warehouse. Tile Warehouse offers “thinsets, waterproofing, anti-fracture membranes and epoxy grout that, when properly installed, offer trouble-free solutions” for the moisture-plagued bathroom, says Giles. Many of Tile Warehouse’s products also feature “fantastic warranties.” AccessoriesMix It Up
