The latest kitchen trends appeal to astute homeowners. These homeowners are researching what they need and, with the help of savvy designers, they’re combining those needs with style and safety. The result? Trends that are eco-friendly, smart, safe, stylish and oh-so-cool. Green Team“There is an eco-friendly option in every aspect of kitchen design today,” says Glenda Anderson, of Details International. Saving costs and energy has never been easier with the abundance of green products available.
Save. The non-shared air system in this GE Profile refrigerator, available at Servco Home & Appliance Distribution, keeps food fresher, longer. “The cold, dry air of the freezer doesn’t spill into the refrigerator compartment,” says Randall Omoto, of Homeowners Design Center.
Stay cool. Sue Haas, CKD, CBD, from Details International, utilized this induction cooktop, which wastes virtually no energy. Heat goes straight to the pan and nowhere else, leaving your home the same temperature as it was before you started cooking.
Automate. Motion sensors on this faucet, available through Details International, ensure water isn’t wasted. But what if you need to scrub in the sink without the water on? The touch sensor allows you to easily turn the water off when needed, as well.
Protect. TimberSoy, from ecoprocote, is a soy-based wood stain that utilizes nature’s own chemistry to preserve and colorize wood surfaces while protecting against UV rays, abrasion and weathering.
Illuminate. LED bulbs never need replacing and “they’re designed for wonderful color,” Anderson says. This strip of LEDs, available through Details International, contains movable and removable lights for as little or as much illumination wherever you need it. Page 1 of 3 >> 2 >> 3 >> Next |
