Naka’s Marble offers cultured marble, quartz and solid surfaces for bathrooms and countertops and specializes in custom shower pans.

Tammy Nakamoto, owner of Naka’s Marble, has been in business for more than 34 years. During this time, she has developed a hands-on approach to serving her customers.

“We walk them through the steps,” Nakamoto says. Once homeowners arrive at the showroom, the staff helps them select materials and colors. After the orders are made, the staff takes field measurements and installs the new countertops or bathroom sinks.

The staff at Naka’s are involved from start to finish. Not only do they sell materials, they also make cultured marble in their shop. Cultured marble is constructed from powdered marble and a polyester resin. It has the look of natural marble, is less expensive and also has four times the weight-bearing capacity of stone. As with the quartz and solid surfaces, Naka’s cultured marble is nonporous, which prevents the growth of mold or bacteria. But the shining feature of cultured marble is that it can be molded — a key to Naka’s signature specialty — custom shower pans.

The company can fabricate any shape or design of shower pan or any length of counter the customer wants. Rather than piecing together a room from preset modules, shoppers are free to add personal touches to their remodeling project. For inspiration, visitors to Naka’s Marble can see samples of completed bathrooms or kitchens. “Everything here is custom, that’s the nice thing about it. We make any size that the customer needs,” Nakamoto says.
