Q:  Sometimes I like to let the light in, and sometimes I like to use the shades. What I don’t like to do is clean the shades. Is there an easy-to-clean solution?

A:  How about window treatments that rarely need cleaning? Pella’s Designer Series of windows and doors (shown at right) features EnduraClad wood that allows for blinds, shades, decorative panels and removable grilles to go in between the glass, which means they are protected from dirt and dust. Also, because they snap in, you can change them whenever you want. Bonus: Triple-pane glass provides energy-efficiency and great noise reduction.
