Summer is officially here. If you’re looking to keep your home cooler, you’re in luck. The latest energy-efficient cooling products, including air conditioning, roofing, insulation, windows and shutters come with financial rewards. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 allocates tax-credit dollars for energy-efficient products that were purchased and installed during 2009 and 2010. The credits return 30 percent of the purchase price of the products, up to $1,500 for existing homes.

Plus, there are even more opportunities to save through state tax credits and rebates for products such as ENERGY STAR®-certified appliances. Check out our list of energy-smart cooling ideas.
