“When you come to Hawaii Home Expo, the first thing you notice is a total showroom,” says owner Bruce Okimoto. Recently reopened under its new name, the full-service location combines two well-known home-improvement businesses, T. Oki Trading Ltd. (specializing in bath fixtures and appliances) and Marblehaus Hawaii (specializing in natural and prefab stone surfaces).

Why the combination? “We wanted a one-stop shop,” says Okimoto. “At Hawaii Home Expo, you can now do everything under one roof. You can do your countertops, your flooring, your shower surround, your toilet, your sink, all of it.” In addition to stone, Hawaii Home Expo now carries engineered-wood flooring and carpeting lines.

The showroom features such luxury brands as Villeroy & Boch (for fixtures and surface materials), Toto toilets, sinks and tubs, Jacuzzi spas, Viking appliances and more. In addition, “We believe we’re very competitive in our pricing for these products,” says Okimoto.

The new location provides a more shopper-friendly experience, including ample parking, modern displays and plenty of room to browse. A knowledgeable staff, some with more than 20 years’ experience in the business, is on hand to answer questions. They’ll work with homeowners to help design their ideal living space or work with interior designers to provide the right products for the job.

Okimoto believes homeowners will identify with Hawaii Home Expo’s established, family-owned business style. “I was born and raised here. Many of our staff members are fluent in other languages. It’s luxury with a local touch.”    ­
