Closet
Everything in its place. A closet system, like this one from Organized Hawaii, makes organization a breeze. Built-in shelving, drawers, shoe racks and hanging rods ensure that each accessory and item of clothing has its proper place. Space-Saving Tip: Invest in a set of quality hangers to help keep your closet neat and clothes crisp.

Sky-High Storage. “To maximize the use of your space, look up! Consider overhead storage or other ways to use the space above your head,” says Jason Cruz, Sears National Buyer for tool storage. The space between the ceiling and your kitchen cabinets is a great place to store seasonal items. Or, use a hanging pots-and-pans rack to empty your drawers and utilize some above-your-head storage.
Rack & Roll. Wire-rack inserts can go anywhere in the kitchen—under the sink, in any cabinet and even in the pantry. Brianne Wilson of DeWils Industries Inc. recommends pull-out wine racks and spice racks, as well.
The Insider. “Use the space inside the cabinet door to hang up your measuring spoons and cups,” says Wilson.
Space-Saving Tip: Rotate food staples out of your pantry. Create menus to use up canned goods before they get dated.

Free and orderly. Give your bathroom an organized look without spending any money. Grouping together like-colored towels and products gives an orderly appearance on your shelves. Also, shelve items by type—toiletries on one shelf, books on another—for a tidier look.
Space-Saving Tip: Use inexpensive baskets as colorful catch-alls on shelves or under vanities.

Hang it up. The easiest way to clear clutter from your garage is to utilize your wall space. “Off-the-floor design keeps stored items elevated, providing protection against damp floors,” says Brent Potter, of Organized Hawaii. There are plenty of inexpensive floor-to-ceiling possibilities, such as shelving, racks, stackable drawers, hooks and pegboards. “Hang long-handled tools and your dustpan on a wall that is easy to access using a trackwall system, like Craftsman VersaTrack,” says Cruz.
Space-Saving Tip: Hide what you rarely use, and display what you often need.

Undercover Storage. Utilize the space under your bed by sliding baskets and plastic bins under your bed frame, or consider a platform bed with built-in drawers. This way, you can keep sheets, extra pillows and blankets right where you need them.
Work it out. “A tailored office desk makes it easy to review your work while file cabinets keep paperwork in order,” says Potter. Pullout drawers and built-in file cabinets keep printers, paperwork and other equipment nearby, so you can be as efficient as possible.
Space-Saving Tip: Done with your dish rack? Try using it to keep files organized in your workspace.

Build It In. Built-in cabinetry not only looks great, it also adds value to your home. “Plus, entertaining at home is more enjoyable when everything is in its place,” says Potter. Both DeWils Industries Inc. and Organized Hawaii offer custom cabinetry and shelving systems
in several styles for all your storage needs.
