There are lots of great local Web sites out there to get you started. I’ve recently come across a couple that are especially easy to navigate and fun to use. Here are three of my favorites:
hawaiirealestatereporter.com: A site run by Joe Segal of Prudential Locations. Find news on the changing real estate market including a listing of foreclosures and short sales, reports on changing mortgage rates, explanation of the first home buyer tax credit and more.
alohaliving.com: Run by Hawaii Information Service (HIS) this site offers blogs, calculators and tools as well as articles relating to Hawaii’s real estate market. I especially like the mortgage calculator. Plug in the life of your loan, the interest rate, the price of your home, and the amount of money you can pay up front, and receive your estimated monthly mortgage payment amount.
coldwellbankerpacific.com: Browse a flash screen featuring homes for sale; search home listings by island, price, area (Ewa plain, metro and Waikiki, for example) and more; and read market updates.
