With Earth Day just around the corner (April 22), I found myself asking, what can I do around the home to help?
I consulted the book Change the World for Ten Bucks, which we are giving away, and found tons of small actions to try. Here are some of my favorites:
- Swap your stove-top tea kettle for an electric one. A stove-top kettle takes nine minutes to boil four cups of water while an electric kettle takes under five.
- Unplug the cell charger. Phone chargers only do their job 5% of the time they’re plugged in, which means 95% of the time, their energy is wasted.
- Fix something. Instead of tossing everything in your home that’s not working properly, try fixing it instead.
