This image didn't make it into print in our February New & Improved Home feature (Neo-Bungalow, p. 20). But I loved the look so much I thought it worth sharing anyway. This is a really tiny office in a wonderful bungalow in Nuuanu. Designer Isla Schmidt of So'Mace added that blue Cisco Brothers daybed to help it double as guest space. That part is cool. But what I love most is the island take on a traditional, toile-inspired wallpaper pattern (a pattern the homeowner, who loves wallpaper, handpicked). You don't see design choices like that being made in Hawaii very often. I also loved the dark green trim, a reverse on the traditional light trim/deeper wall color combo, and the dark-green painted floors. Tiny room, big style. Great job, Isla! Check out more photos of this home, including a gorgeous master bedroom (with more wallpaper) here. Or, pick up a copy of the February issue at City Mill now.
