The design team at Kitchen Concepts Plus is in the business of making kitchen, bath, entertainment center, laundry area and home office dreams come true for its clients.
“If you can dream it, we can design it,” says Michael L. Smith, certified master kitchen and bath designer (CMKBD) and Allied Member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). “If there is a style you want, we’ll design it. If there is a color you want, we’ll match it. Together, we’ll create a one-of-a-kind just for you.”

With more than 40 years’ experience in the kitchen and bath design field, Smith has served as the national director for the Aloha Chapter of the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA), an organization that sets standards for its members to follow, to ensure professional results. He has also served as a lecturer for interior design classes.

Smith says that all designs start with an idea that is “your vision of exactly how a room should look and feel.” He suggests that homeowners collect pictures of what they like and create a scrapbook to organize their project and their priorities, so the designer is clear about their concept of the perfect kitchen and what it should look like.

Projects by Kitchen Concepts Plus are often featured in Hawaii Home + Remodeling magazine as well as national design publications. In addition, during the past 35 years, Smith’s stunning designs have garnered him many awards and honors.

Kitchen Concepts Plus has a showroom at the Gentry Pacific Design Center, where clients can experience the latest design ideas, appliances and cabinets. Two cabinet lines are showcased here. Rutt HandCrafted Cabinetry, makers of one of the finest American handcrafted, all-wood cabinets, features fine furniture-quality finishes, with a variety of door styles and woods from traditional, transitional and contemporary styles.

Also offered exclusively through the showroom is Poggenpohl from Germany. Poggenpohl is known for its exceptional quality and thoroughly planned aesthetics. Customers can choose cabinet-door styles and finishes as well as have access to an extensive array of accessories, which allows for any size kitchen to be furnished in an ergonomic, functional and stylish manner.
